To all the Empire Church of the Brethren family / friends and associates:
At the special Board meeting on Sunday, October 25, Pastor John Price informed the Board that he is ready to retire. John's plan is to work until the church can call the next pastor, or not later than the 2027 harvest season. Members of the Board expressed thanks for John's nearly 30 years of service as our pastor. We will have plans to celebrate John's ministry with us as his retirement draws closer in 2027.
Our District Executive Minister was with us to share about the process for calling the next pastor for the congregation. More information will be shared in the months ahead regarding that process.
For now, the Board want to encourage the congregation to be in prayer as we enter this time of transition - prayers for Pastor John and family as they prepare for this change; prayers for the person who God is preparing to be our next pastor; and prayers for all of us as we seek to grow as a church in this transitional time.
